The Atlanta Falcons have a few players on their roster who are looking for new contracts with the team. On Monday, Atlanta gave Grady Jarrett a new long-term deal, and Deion Jones could be next in line.

According to Adam Schefter, Atlanta is set to meet with Jones on Wednesday to discuss a new contract. The Falcons inside linebacker is hoping to walk away with a new deal shortly after the meeting.

Jones is entering the final season on his rookie deal and is need of an extension before he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season ends. Although, that likely won't happen if the Falcons can come to terms with Jones this week.

Jones has been a focal point of Atlanta's defense since being drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Jones was crucial to the Falcons run to the Super Bowl—even though things didn't go as planned.

Nonetheless, Jones is one of a few players that are near the top of Falcons' checklist in terms of signing to new contracts. Besides Jarrett and Jones, the Falcons are in works to expectantly give Julio Jones an extension.

The All-Pro wide receiver is entering the second-to-last year on his current contract but wants to be paid like a top receiver. Currently, Julio is set to make $9.6 million in 2019—which is 13th among wide receivers.

At the least, it seems the Falcons are working on getting most of their urgent extensions done before the 2019 season begins. First, it was Jarrett, but Deion Jones appears to be the next in line for a hefty payday.
