The Atlanta Falcons tried to move on from Matt Bryant this offseason, but it now appears when they open the season against the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday, he will be on the field. After Vaughn McClure confirmed the report that Bryant would be brought in for a workout, Schefter added on that the team would sign him and make him the kicker this season.

Bryant is still going to have to pass a physical and not bomb his workout, but it appears the 44-year-old will be back in red for at least one more season.

The veteran kicker did hint at the news on Thursday morning, saying he was fishing before flying out with eyeball emojis.

Giorgio Tavecchio was lights out for the Falcons last year, and had no competition coming into camp. He struggled mightily, making only half of his kicks, so the team decided to bring in some competition in the form of Blair Walsh.

Walsh hasn't kicked in a game yet for the Falcons, but he has struggled during practice and even though he is still on the roster, it's clear he wouldn't be the answer.

Bryant has lost a little strength in his leg the last couple of years, but he has still been Mr. Consistent. Over his last 10 years with the Falcons, he has made 88.7 percent of his field goals and when the team needed a clutch kick, Bryant always delivered.

This should be confirmed tomorrow at some point, so stay tuned to ClutchPoints for the latest details.
