The Atlanta Falcons have seemingly fallen out of the playoff picture after dropping their last four straight games, all but eliminating them. This has pushed forward talk about the team considering sitting star quarterback Matt Ryan at some point over the final four games of the season. In response to that notion, head coach Dan Quinn had a resounding response, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.

The Falcons are sitting on the brink of elimination from the playoffs, needing plenty to break their way on top of winning out. Aside from that, Atlanta has no intentions on packing it in, keeping Ryan under center. He has been a driving factor offensively, putting together yet another productive campaign. Ryan ranks third with 3.814 passing yards, eighth with 25 touchdown passes, sixth with a 109.3 passer rating, and third with a career-best 70.9 percent completion rate in 2018.
Ryan continues to provide a high level of production under center, but their recent shortcomings have been discouraging. They have failed to break more than 20 points in any game over their current four-game skid, contributing greatly to the team essentially playing themselves out of playoff contention. Atlanta is looking to finish the season out on a positive note, focusing on getting back to the .500 mark while building for next season.
Ryan has a chance to build on his chemistry with rookie wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who has proven to be a major asset in the offense. The Falcons can also sort through their running back situation that could help them decide what direction the team needs to head to improve that aspect of the offense next year. Beyond that, it is clear the Falcons have no plans of pulling back for the rest of the season.
