Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has been through a rough campaign all throughout the 2020 NFL season mainly due to his nagging hamstring injury. The former Alabama standout is making an effort to make the field again after he recently received a platelet-rich plasma injection to further progress the healing of his injury, per NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport.

The said treatment was given to Jones after their Week 13 encounter against the New Orleans Saints where he generated 94 yards on six receptions en route to a 21-16 loss. He then failed to suit up in their following game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14 where the Falcons lost their second consecutive game on a 20-17 outcome.

Jones will once again be out in their Week 15 encounter against division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to his recovery for his injury. Through nine games played, Jones has amassed a total of 771 yards on 51 receptions and three touchdowns. He still has a chance to exceed the 1,000 receiving yard mark for the sixth consecutive season if he manages to come out with big performances in the Falcons remaining games. And of course, if he plays in them.

A 4-9 record and third in the NFC South will most likely put the Falcons out of contention for a seat in the postseason. However, with the season already over with for the Atlanta-based squad, Jones still wants to make the most out of his season and end his 2020 campaign on a positive note.

The Falcons will have the Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Buccaneers again in Week 17 for their remaining three games of the season.
