The Atlanta Falcons are coming off one of the worst choke jobs in recent history with their loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. Unfortunately, it now remains to be seen if wide receiver Julio Jones will be in the mix.

Head coach Dan Quinn says Jones will be a game-time decision against the Bears in Week 3, per ESPN's Vaughn McClure:

Jones has been nursing the hamstring he strained during the Falcons' 40-39 loss to Dallas. He admitted that the injury attributed to his modest performance that saw him drop a potential game-winner. He was unable to practice this week and Quinn's comments indicate that they will be testing it out all the way up until kickoff.

Jones was already dealing with a hamstring issue to start the 2020 NFL season. Given how prone this injury is to lingering, it comes as a surprise to see Quinn still taking his chances rather than just have the five-time All-Pro sit out until it is completely healed. After all, it is still early in the year and the team would be wise ton try and avoid any further setbacks to their best player.

Regardless, Jones' potential absence would undoubtedly deal a major blow to the passing game for quarterback Matt Ryan in Week 3. If he is unable to go, the onus would fall on Calvin Ridley, Russell Gage, and Hayden Hurst to hold down the receiving corps while he recovers. The offense could also rely more on the ground game with running back Todd Gurley as the primary workhorse.
