The Atlanta Falcons are looking to snap a two-game skid as they get set to host the Carolina Panthers in Week 14. they are still holding out hope that wide receiver Julio Jones will be available.

Jones was sidelined during the 26-18 loss to the New Orleans Saint in Week 13 with a shoulder injury. According to Jason Butt of The Athletic, head coach Dan Quinn is optimistic he will be able to make his return versus Carolina.

Dan Quinn said Julio Jones will get some limited work in today. On Monday, Quinn indicated Jones would have a good shot at playing against Carolina.

This is certainly an encouraging update for the Falcons. Jones had tested out the shoulder prior to kickoff last week before determining that he would need to sit out. His participation practice this time around should provide more clarity on his status for Week 14.

Jones' absence was sorely missed by Atlanta's offense as they struggled to find their rhythm without him. Regardless, they will have a much more favorable matchup this time around against a Carolina team that just parted ways with head coach Ron Rivera. This is a great opportunity for them to get back on track and potentially end the 2019 NFL season on a high note.

It is for this reason that the Falcons would be wise to take a cautious approach with his recovery. The playoffs have long been well out of reach and the last thing they need is for their franchise cornerstone to suffer another setback going into the offseason.
