The Atlanta Falcons are in the midst of an overhaul after firing both general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Dan Quinn earlier in the week. This has put the future of Matt Ryan, among others, in jeopardy, with rumors emerging about the team potentially parting ways with the former MVP as part of a rebuild.

Ryan has opened up about his thoughts on his future in Atlanta, and the quarterback is not too concerned:

“We rent these lockers; we don't own them,” Ryan said, via the team's official website. “We have to go out and pay that rent and earn your spot day in and day out. Regardless of whether you're in Year 1 or Year 13, that's our responsibility as players all of the time is to go out there and perform, that's what we're paid to do.”

It's not that Ryan is feeling untouchable here. After all, it was Dimitroff who drafted him in the first round many years ago, while Ryan was Quinn's top QB over the past six season. With both men out of the organization, it isn't impossible to think that major roster changes might also be on the horizon. What Ryan is saying here is that he's just going to continue to give his best day in and day out, and then ultimately hope that this is enough for a Falcons team that really needs a jolt.

Moreover, Ryan hasn't exactly been in MVP form to start the 2020 season. The 35-year-old's lack in form has been one of the primary reasons why Atlanta has lost all five of its games thus far. Ryan has thrown only one touchdown this season — it was a one-yard score back in Week 1 — and he's clearly missing the services of injured star wide receiver Julio Jones.
