If things weren't already looking bleak for the Atlanta Falcons, Matt Ryan went to the medical tent and left with an injury versus the Los Angeles Rams.
Matt Ryan limping off the field. This is about as bad as this can get..

On the play that he got hurt, the Falcons signal-caller was sacked and stripped of the ball by Aaron Donald. Donald recovered the ball and Ryan limped off the field as he made his way to the blue tent on the sideline. Luckily for Atlanta, the veteran quarterback came out of the tent and was seen sitting on the bench.
Matt Ryan is out of the tent, sitting next to Julio Jones on the sidelines. #Falcons

The injury for Ryan is being described as an ankle issue as he was taken to the ground by Donald. With the hit on Ryan, Donald has now injured both Drew Brees and Ryan this season.
It appears that @AaronDonald97 has now knocked out both @drewbrees and Matt Ryan this year. That’s half the NFC South, in case you’re wondering.

With Ryan exiting the game, veteran Matt Schaub has come in to lead the offense under center. Schaub hasn't started in an NFL game since the 2015 season; when he played for the Baltimore Ravens. Therefore, the Falcons are hoping that their franchise quarterback doesn't miss any time.
As an update, he was officially ruled out of the game against the Rams around 15 minutes after he went to the medical tent:
Matt Ryan has been ruled out to return with an ankle injury.

Regardless, the Falcons will now fall to 1-6 on the season and the seat under Dan Quinn continues to get hotter. Before the season began, there was no one who envisioned this Atlanta team at the bottom of the NFC South.
It is disappointing when you have an offense with Ryan throwing to Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Calvin Ridley, and Austin Hooper and are unable to win games. We will have to wait until after the game to see what the extent of Ryan's injury is.
