Atlanta Falcons running back Todd Gurley, who was released by the Los Angeles Rams, revealed he only wanted to play for the Falcons.

“I had a couple of places I was thinking about, but it was really Atlanta, Gurley said in a interview with SiriusXMNFL. Every offseason I kind of weigh my options whether it's a long-term or short-term and just see the different possibilities. I know there’s always a possibility that I’m going to get traded or cut so I always try to put stuff in my brain and try to plan ahead. And once I got cut, my mind was already made up on Atlanta, everything had just sounded right and it ended up working out for me.

In the same interview, Gurley expressed that he's excited to play with the Falcons this upcoming season.

I'm excited to go back to Georgia, I played college ball there, and now I’ll get to play with one of the best receivers in Julio Jones, an MVP quarterback a couple of years ago in Matt Ryan, and also young guys like Calvin Ridley, Hayden Hurst, and Dante Fowler. I’m really excited.

Despite his struggles last season, Gurley has a proven track record of success. In his four seasons with the Rams, he rushed for at least 1,100 yards in three of his five campaigns, totaling 70 touchdowns. He has also earned three Pro Bowl selections as well as Offensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Nevertheless, if Gurley can return to the same player he was before his knee injury, the Falcons will certainly have one of the best offenses in the league next season.
