After Josh McRoberts announced that he will be picking up his player option on the final year of his contract, the Miami Heat fans were not too thrilled about it.

Having only played in 81 games for the team in three years, his $6 million salary will be on the Heat’s books next season and will eat up valuable cap space that they could use to sign a big name free agent or retain the services of James Johnson and Dion Waiters. One fan couldn’t hide his frustrations and savagely edited McRoberts’ Wikipedia page. A number of hilarious comments were included in it and even questioned him being a professional basketball player.

Back in 2014, the Heat pursued the 30-year-old Duke University product as they saw him as a good fit for their system and could stretch the floor for Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, and allow them to score inside the paint. However, his tenure in South Beach has not gone according to plan as he has suffered multiple injuries and had difficulty remaining healthy.

Should he make it to the regular season still in a Heat uniform, McRoberts is hoping he can play close to his old self and prove to his doubters that he deserves his roster spot. It’s also his chance to showcase his talent and change the Heat front office’s perception of him, and make them want to re-sign him next year.
