The San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers will face off against one another in a game that has plenty of fantasy football implications. Among the players who are poised to have a big-time performance, Tevin Coleman is a must-play running back in Week 12 versus the Packers.

The 49ers signed Coleman in free agency to a two-year, $8.5 million contract. The hope was that Coleman would become one of the team's featured backs alongside Jerick McKinnon and Matt Breida.

Unfortunately, McKinnon re-injured his knee and was forced to miss the entire 2019 season. As a result, Coleman's role in the offense only increased after he was able to recover from an injury of his own.

In his first game back from injury in Week 5, Coleman rushed for 97 yards on 16 attempts and added a touchdown. Altogether, the versatile running back has rushed for 409 yards and five touchdowns for the 49ers in 2019.

From Weeks 5-8, Tevin Coleman had three games of scoring 14 or more fantasy points. That included a 37.8-point performance versus the Carolina Panthers in Week 8 when he scored four touchdowns.

However, over his past three games, Coleman has combined for only 26 points. Despite his recent struggles, the talented runner is poised to get back on track versus the Packers in Week 12.

Green Bay spent plenty of money over the offseason to bring in the likes of Preston Smith, Za'Darius Smith and Adrian Amos. With the addition of those three players, the Packers' pass defense has been much-improved from a season ago.

At the same time, their run defense has left a lot to be desired under Mike Pettine. Currently, Green Bay has surrendered 1,144 rushing yards to opposing running backs (fourth-most in the NFL).

In addition, they've also allowed 11 rushing touchdowns (second-most in the NFL) and 28.6 points per game to running backs (third-most in the NFL). All signs point toward Coleman being a top performer in Week 12 at the running back position.

Besides the favorable matchup, San Francisco is unlikely to have Breida available on Sunday night due to a sprained ankle. Considering that, Coleman will have the go-ahead to get the majority of the touches in the backfield.

Along with Coleman, the 49ers will also utilize Raheem Mostert at running back. Even with Mostert or even Jeff Wilson possibly getting touches, Coleman is going to terrorize Green Bay's wayward run defense.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Coleman finished the game with 105 yards and a touchdown during Sunday Night Football. Provided that, the 49ers' No. 1 running back should be inserted into your lineups with confidence.
