Stanislas Wawrinka enjoyed a good start in his first-round match against Corentin Moutet at the 2022 French Open, as he took the first set. However, things unraveled from there, as Wawrinka ended up losing the next three sets- and the match- in a shocking upset at Roland Garros. However, it might not have been the most shocking part of the match. Stan Wawrinka had a ludicrous complaint during a changeover at Roland Garros. See what Wawrinka said, via The Tennis Podcast.

Wow. So Wawrinka was upset because his water was too cold. In fact, in the words of the Swiss tennis star, he desired water that wasn't fr***ing freezing.” Clearly, Wawrinka had a problem with not only the temperature of his water at the French Open, but also the fact that Roland Garros couldn't provide him with “normal water.”

It's either that, or Wawrinka was displeased with his uneven performance, as he fired off 47 winners but was ultimately doomed by his 51 unforced errors on the day.

It's undoubtedly frustrating but to take it out on the poor chair umpire over the temperature of his water is just flat-out immature on the part of the 2015 French Open champion.

It's another disappointing loss for Wawrinka, who has fallen outside the top-200 in the ATP's rankings after once occupying a spot in the top-10. His return from last year's foot injury has been anything but smooth, and if his actions in the French Open loss to Moutet are any indication, it's taking a toll on him mentally.
