Florida Gators newly-appointed head coach Billy Napier has made a significant splash in the transfer portal, marking one of his first major additions since taking over in Gainesville. The Gators have landed former Ohio State quarterback Jack Miller after he announced his decision to transfer from the Buckeyes program in late November. Miller announced his own decision to join Florida via Twitter.

Miller is a 6-foot-4 pro-style quarterback who was the No. 9 recruit in the state of Arizona in the Class of 2020. 247Sports rated him as a four-star recruit and the 334th overall prospect in the Class of 2020, as well as the 13th best pro-style QB in his class.

Miller was recruited to Ohio State by Ryan Day, having initially committed to the program back in 2018. He had also been recruited by other top schools including Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, and Auburn.

The redshirt freshman will be available to play for the Gators in 2022, and will have four years of eligibility remaining upon transferring schools. The Scottsdale, Az. native was stuck behind C.J. Stroud and Kyle McCord on the Buckeyes' depth chart, resulting in him making just 14 pass attempts across his two years with the program.

Miller was suspended from the team in November for operating a vehicle while impaired but was reinstated two weeks later after the charges against him were reduced. He is the second Buckeyes QB to transfer from the program this year, following Quinn Ewers who departed the program in order to join the Texas Longhorns.
