The Georgia Bulldogs have once again landed a coveted linebacker for their 2023 recruiting class.

Troy Bowles, an outside linebacker who has starred at the Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida, announced on Saturday that he has committed to the University of Georgia.

Bowles, a son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, garnered interest from several powerhouse football programs. Among them, he received offers from Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame over the past year.

In May, Bowles trimmed down his list of interested schools to eight, which included Florida and Auburn. Earlier this month, he brought down the shortlist to a mere three in Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, which came after he touched base with all three programs during official visits in June. And in the end, he has decided to commit to the Bulldogs for next year's season.

Georgia co-defensive coordinators Will Muschamp and Glenn Schumann are set to have multiple new faces on defense for the 2023 campaign. For one, Georgia has hauled in verbal commitments from three four-star linebackers, including Raylen Wilson and CJ Allen. And according to the 247Sports composite rankings, Bowles is the second highest-ranked linebacker on the list behind Anthony Hill, who is slated to take his talents to either Texas or Texas A&M.

Overall, Georgia has now received 10 four-star commitments for its 2023 class, which has the reigning College Football Playoff national champions at a tie with LSU for the fifth-most such recruits.

For now, all eyes are set on Georgia’s upcoming season opener against Oregon.
