It's Year 3 of the Daniel Jones experience for the New York Giants, who invested a high draft capital on the quarterback to get him in 2019. Selected sixth overall in that year's NFL Draft, Jones has yet to convince Giants nation that he's the long-term answer under center for the franchise. But for his teammates, particularly wide receiver Sterling Shepard, Jones has shown enough to warrant recognition that New York made the right decision to take Jones. People who don't view Jones the same got a problem with their retinas, if you ask Shepard, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

“If you don't see it, you're blind,” said Shepard, who lived with Jones this summer during training camp and was blown away by his unending concentration on football.

This could be the season where Jones has his last shot at proving to the Giants he's the real deal. His current contract will not expire until the end of the 2022 NFL season, but who knows what the Giants can do to him if the losing continues this year. He's already off to a shaky start this season, though. Jones went 22-of-37 for 267 passing yards and a touchdown in Week 1's 27-13 home loss to the Denver Broncos. While he avoided getting picked by the Broncos, he lost a fumble for his first turnover of the year.

If anything, at least none of the quarterbacks taken after Jones in 2019 blossomed into a star (yet).
