Pat Shurmur announced earlier in the week that rookie Daniel Jones would take the mantle as the New York Giants starting quarterback. After the decision was made, Nate Solder preached team accountability ahead of Jones' first career start.

“It’s not an easy task, and I think it’s going to take all of us. It’s never one guy. It’s always a group effort. It’s always all three phases of the game. It’s all working together. That’s how you help a guy out like that. We take that very seriously protecting him and running the ball and all of the things that we need to do to be successful as an offense.”

Over the first two weeks of the season, Eli Manning has been under center for the Giants. In those two games, Manning has thrown for 556 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Along with his play on the field, New York has fallen to 0-2 on the season. Due to their slow start, they are desperate to come out with a victory on Sunday. Therefore, Shurmur thought it was best to hand the keys to the offense to the team's No. 6 pick in this year's draft.

However, as Solder alluded to, it's going to take the entire team to rally behind Jones and come out with a victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The offense has been stagnant but New York's defense has been abysmal on the other side of the ball.

There was always the assumption that Jones would wind up being named the starter this season. But no one envisioned it coming in Week 3. Nevertheless, Giants fans will be on the edge of their seat to watch their hopeful franchise quarterback take the field on Sunday.
