The New York Giants were doubted by many in their ability to land free-agent receiver Kenny Golladay. The doubters have to eat crow. Big Blue signed Golladay on Saturday to a four-year, $72 million deal, giving Daniel Jones an elite target.

After the memorably bad 2020 NFC East campaign — in which the Washington Football Team won the division championship despite a 7-9 record and the 6-10 Giants were still alive in the division race on the final weekend of the regular season — every NFC East team needed a dramatic boost to its roster.
Dallas needed this boost on defense. The Giants needed to bolster their offense. Getting an elite wide receiver for Daniel Jones and thereby improving the passing game gives Saquon Barkley a chance to be more effective in the running game. Barkley can also catch passes out of the backfield, drawing the attention of linebackers and clearing out space so that Golladay can operate in more advantageous situations.
The Giants have given their fan base hope. That's a dangerous thing, but certainly a good step for Big Blue.
