A game-used football is a nice souvenir to take home for any NFL fan even though it was used to score against your team. One New York Giants supporter, however, appears not to share that same line of thinking, via TMZ Sports.

During Thursday’s preseason showdown between the Cleveland Browns and the Giants at MetLife Stadium, Browns tight end David Njoku scored on a touchdown find from rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield. Njoku then chucked the ball to a Giants fan just behind the end zone, but the latter was not keen on taking with him a cool piece of football memorabilia, as he angrily hurled the ball back into the field. That’s a bold move – and one that robbed the passionate fan a chance to earn some extra bucks. Granted that he hates his team being scored on, at least he could have sold the item and made money off of the Giants’ inability to defend.

If Mayfield turned out to be the quarterback who finally leads the Browns to their first Super Bowl title, that fan might end up sulking in a corner, kicking his head for letting his zealotry get the better of him.

The Browns also ended up winning the game, 20-10. The Giants, on the other hand, will look to bounce back next week against the Detroit Lions on the road.
