The Green Bay Packers have one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in Davante Adams. He's continuously proven that he's nearly unstoppable in past seasons.

What makes that even more remarkable is the fact that the Packers don't exactly have other superstar targets. In fact, for years people have commented on the problem that Green Bay does not give quarterback Aaron Rodgers a lot to work with.

The truth is, after Adams, the wide receivers have not been great. And that trend continued in 2019. None of them exactly instill any fear into opponents.

That puts a lot of pressure on Adams, and he tends to produce. How did he do in 2019 though? Let's grade him out.

The first thing you have to note is that Adams appeared in just 12 games in 2019. Injuries slowed him down quite a bit. In fact, appearing in only 12 games is the fewest the wide receiver has ever played in for a season.

That being said, the numbers were still really strong. Davante Adams racked up 83 receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns. Those are all still really good numbers. They do create a little bit of a problem though.

You can look at those numbers and say they are fantastic for 12 games. And you would definitely be right about that. However, you could also look at those numbers and be disappointed. Think about how good they could have been if he played in 16 games.

If Adams appeared in 16 games, he was on-pace for some massive stats; 111 receptions, 1,329 yards, and 7 touchdown receptions. Those are the numbers he was projected for. That is straight insanity.

The reality of the situation, however, is those are not the numbers Adams finished with because he was injured.

The injury definitely marks him down a bit, simply because the stats could have been so much better. At the same time, Rodgers might not him down a bit. Having an elite quarterback like that is not Davante Adams' fault. However, it's like starting a test with some of the answers. He has a head start on a lot of other receivers because of the guy throwing him the ball.

Then again, the supporting cast around him bumps the grade up. Adams is constantly facing the best defensive back on teams. He's getting targeted and double-teamed. Defenses game plan to stop him. They do that because the other receivers on the team aren't scaring anyone.

Despite that, Adams still puts up monster numbers every week. That's definitely a major positive.

In the end, you have to look at the full body of work altogether. The fact that Adams faces the toughest competition each week and still puts in work, has to make me mark him high. However, the injuries really hurt. They left him with an incomplete season that could have been truly remarkable.

Because of that, the grade gets lowered a bit. Davante Adams was so good, he still gets a B+ though.
