It has been a long winding path back to the court for veteran guard Ben McLemore since suffering a broken foot in the offseason.

However, it appears that the 24-year-old is set to make his debut with the Memphis Grizzlies later this week as the team announced on Thursday morning that he has been recalled to the roster.

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced the team recalled guard Ben McLemore and forward Ivan Rabb from the Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ NBA G League affiliate.

McLemore had played just one game with their G-League affiliate, Memphis Hustle on Nov. 5 where he recorded eight points, two rebounds, and two steals in just 16 minutes of action. It marked his first official action since breaking his left foot in a pickup game in Los Angeles during this past summer.

The original timetable for his return from the injury was put at 12 weeks, which puts him on track to make his comeback around that window of time. McLemore had inked a two-year, $10.7 million deal with Memphis in free agency with the expectation that he would assume a major role in the backcourt.

In his absence, the team has leaned more heavily upon Andrew Harrison and Tyreke Evans. His return should shake things up a bit at the position with the potential that he could grab the starting spot at some point down the line.

There were reports earlier this week that he is expected to make his debut on Saturday against the Houston Rockets.
