Memphis Grizzlies guard Ben McLemore is eyeing a return to the floor this Saturday when his team faces off with the Houston Rockets, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com is reporting.

Ben McLemore has yet to play in Grizzlies threads after signing a two-year, $10.6 million contract with the team back in the summer. The former Kansas Jayhawk was expected to play significant minutes on the wing for the Grizzlies, but a foot injury he sustained during a pickup game has delayed the start of another chapter in McLemore’s career.

Prior to inking a deal with the Grizzlies, the 24-year-old swingman had played four unsatisfactory seasons with the Sacramento Kings, averaging just 9.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. In Memphis, however, McLemore could see his numbers improve while playing under arguably a better-run franchise than the one in Sacramento, which failed to nurture and develop his talents that made him the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Ben McLemore likely will not be issued plenty of minutes right away by Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale, who’ll now have to find the right balance of playing time for McLemore, Tyreke Evans, and Andrew Harrison at the two-guard spot.
