One of the many dreams of an aspiring NBA player is to make it into the league and be able to give back to those who gave it all for one to reach that goal.

For Hassan Whiteside, an undrafted player out of Marshall, that person was his mother, Debbie — who worked four jobs in hopes to provide him and his siblings with all the opportunities possible.

Whiteside didn't have the most glamorous entrance to the league, battling through four separate stints in the D-League and playing for four teams overseas after a couple of years of little action with the Sacramento Kings, finally landing a roster spot with the Miami Heat.

This past summer, the 7-footer landed a lucrative four-year, $98 million deal — money which he used to reward his mother with a beautiful six-bedroom home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

There's nothing like paying back the sacrifice a parent has made for one's success and Whiteside got the family together to celebrate his mother's new residence.

At first, Debbie was under the impression that they were just going to take a look at it, only to be surprised with the keys at the end of the tour.

Sometimes the best gift is the gift of giving.
