The Atlanta Hawks have signed Australian-born big man Isaac Humphries for the remainder of this season, according to an official report from the team.

Humphries, now 21 years of age, is a seven-foot, 250-pound center who hails from Sydney, New South Wales. Though he was not selected in the 2017 NBA Draft, he does have a fair amount of professional experience.

Humphries made 46 appearances in the G-League this season with the Erie Bayhawks (34 starts), racking up averages of 11.3 points on 53.8 percent shooting from the field (34.2 percent from beyond the arc), 6.9 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and 1.1 assists in 21.8 minutes per outing.

Prior to his stint in the G League, Humphries played for his hometown team: the Sydney Kings of the NBL. In 26 outings with the Kings, he posted averages of 6.9 points on 58.3 percent shooting, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.0 block in 16.5 minutes per contest. And in recognition of his outstanding play that season, he earned NBL Rookie of the Year.

Humphries, who will reportedly wear No. 8 with the Hawks, spent two years with the Kentucky Wildcats before declaring for the 2017 NBA Draft.

Atlanta is likely making this move for Humphries due to the fact that several of their front-court players are dealing with various ailments, including Dewayne Dedmon, who's been ruled out for the season with an ankle injury.

The Hawks will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll travel to San Antonio for a matchup against the Spurs. Tip-off inside the AT&T Center is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
