Atlanta Hawks starting point guard Dennis Schroder didn't like when he was benched in a recent game against the Philadelphia 76ers. But him being upset seems to have dissipated since.

Schroder has reportedly focused on moving on from the benching, per Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Hawks coach Mike Bundeholzer and point guard Dennis Schroder said they’ve moved on after Schroder was displeased after he was benched for the final eight-plus minutes at the Knicks on Sunday night.

The coach and player discussed the matter after Schroder told Bundeholzer that he felt he should've been on the floor down the stretch of that game. Schroder said while he was upset, he felt better after the conversation, per Cunningham.

“Of course,” Schroder said. “That was his decision. We almost won the game. We go into the next one. We need to win tonight. Just try to focus on that.”

Benchings are always difficult for NBA players, especially those that have big roles on their teams like Schroder does. But at times, the coaches have to make difficult decisions, and players have to respect those as well.

It's good to see that the issue didn't blow up like so many similar ones due to other players and teams in the NBA. If it continues to happen to Schroder, however, it'll be a development to keep an eye on for the rest of the season.
