The Atlanta Hawks have a core of promising young talents that are starting to make noise and turn heads this season. Behind rookie sensation Trae Young and sophomore high-flyer John Collins, the team is confident that they can become a contender in the near future.

Collins seems to agree with this narrative, as he told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he and Young will be ready to take the next huge step in terms of their development next season.

“I feel like this is just getting over the first hump. Just being around him on a day-to-day basis, that’s what a lot of this first year has been about for us. Next year, when we come back and are truly and honestly comfortable with one another it will help leaps and bounds. We won’t be thinking about chemistry. It will be another level next year.”

There's no denying that the Hawks' future relies heavily on Trae Young and John Collins' growth as players, and so far, they are making good progress. Both of them have the potential to be great individual talents, but what's more important is their chemistry on the court.

Atlanta has talented pieces on their team. If everything goes well, we could see them back in the playoffs next season. But there's no rush for the franchise. The best thing to do right now is to constantly help Young and Collins develop in order for them to bring long-term success to the team.

And for Collins, the first step towards that goal has already been achieved.
