Atlanta Hawks veteran Vince Carter is still going at it. In the Hawks' quadruple overtime thriller against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, the 42-year old Carter played over a whopping 44 minutes. With that, Vinsanity just became the oldest player in NBA history to play over 44 minutes in a game, according to Sportsnet on Twitter.

21 seasons in and Vince Carter still continues to impress us. No doubt, his minutes count tonight is as impressive as any highlight throwdown he shows us from time to time.

Nonetheless, the 21-year veteran will surely feel the effects of that 4OT bloodbath the next day. The Bulls and the Hawks went to war, as both teams refused to go down. Chicago ultimately came out on top of what turned out to be one of the craziest games in NBA history, 168-161.

It was actually a bit surprising for Atlanta to let Carter play that much. In fact, the 42-year old played the second most minutes for the Hawks on Friday behind 19-year old rookie Trae Young, who played 56 minutes.

Carter finished his night with 13 points and seven rebounds, and shot 5-of-14 from the field and 3-of-10 from three. Young, on the other hand, had a special 49-point, 16-assist night, becoming just the third rookie in the last 40 seasons to notch a 40-plus point, 10-plus assist game.

Despite being two years over 40, Carter continues to log solid role player minutes for the Hawks. He has appeared in 58 of the Hawks' 63 games this season, and is playing 16.3 minutes per game in his second season with Atlanta. For the season, Carter is averaging 6.9 points and 2.6 rebounds, while shooting at a 43.6 percent clip from the field.
