Count Atlanta Hawks veteran Vince Carter has someone who thinks Carmelo Anthony will play in the NBA again.

Anthony hasn’t played in an NBA game since November of last year. He lasted just 10 games with the Houston Rockets before the franchise exiled and eventually traded him to the Chicago Bulls, who wound up waiving the future Hall of Famer.

Carter, who has aged gracefully in the league unlike Anthony, thinks Melo will get picked up by a playoff team in need of scoring off the bench.

“Situations are different. I think it’s just timing at this point,” Carter told Khari Arnold of NBA.com. “I definitely think he deserves to be in the NBA. He’s one of the most prolific scorers this league has seen at many levels. Pure scorer. I think in time a team will grab him, a playoff team who needs a scorer with his ability. If he’s willing to come off the bench, I think he’ll help a team with his starters mentality.”

Anthony averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds with the Rockets while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.

If Anthony doesn't play ever again, it would be a sad end to what was a great career. A 10-time All-Star and one of the best scorers in NBA history, Anthony has career averages of 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
