The Atlanta Hawks have already made their move several weeks prior to the trade deadline as they sent former lottery pick Cam Reddish and veteran Solomon Hill to the New York Knicks in exchange for Kevin Knox and a future first-rounder. As it turns out, however, it appears that the Hawks are far from done, with John Collins now being heavily linked to a move away from Atlanta.

Right now, Collins has emerged as the biggest name that could be on his way out as the February trade deadline draws closer. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Hawks have placed nearly every single player on their roster on the trade block:

“Everyone but Trae Young and Clint Capela are available,” one assistant general manager told B/R earlier this week before the Reddish trade.

Trae Young is Atlanta's cornerstone superstar and there's just no way they're going to move him. Apparently, Capela is on the same boat in terms of having an untouchable status with the Hawks. Everyone else appears to be fair game, and this includes the 24-year-old John Collins.

It is worth noting that Collins signed a massive $125 million deal with the Hawks just last year which is supposed to keep him in Atlanta through the 2025-26 season. Their union hasn't exactly worked out as the Hawks would have hoped and at this point, it sounds like the front office is ready to pull the plug.

Collins himself previously spoke out about the prospect of being traded by the Hawks and while he acknowledged the links to other teams, the 6-foot-9 power forward made it abundantly clear where his loyalty currently lies:

“Since I started conversations to get my contract last season, the trade conversations have been a thing that I've gotten used to,” Collins stated, via Chris Kirschner of The Athletic. “I pledged my allegiance to the city of Atlanta. I've never come in here once and pledged my allegiances elsewhere.”

The San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Mavericks, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics, and the Washington Wizards have all been rumored as potential destinations for Collins and it goes without saying that he will be a wanted man if the Hawks actually start shopping him around in the market (if they haven't already). He won't come for cheap, though, and his huge contract could also be a deterrent for interested parties so, at this point, a deal does not sound imminent. Then again, you never know.
