Rookie guard Kendrick Nunn of the Miami Heat has set the NBA record for most points by an undrafted player through his first five games.

Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

In his NBA debut, Nunn dropped 24 points in the Heat's win over the Memphis Grizzlies, followed by an 18-point performance in an overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, then a 25-point outburst in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As of this writing, Nunn leads all rookies in scoring. Some have chosen him as an early Rookie of the Year candidate — even above Zion Williamson who's out due to an injury.

Nunn signed up for the 2018 NBA Draft but went unpicked. He then a partially guaranteed deal with the Golden State Warriors. He played for them in the Summer League but was released. Eventually, he found his way to the Santa Cruz Warriors — the Warriors' G League Affiliate. This summer, he was picked up by the Heat.

“It's been a long journey,” Nunn said, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel “from the G League last year all season and the last day call-up from the Heat. It's just been an unbelievable ride. It's just the beginning.”

Can Nunn continue his stellar rookie campaign?
