Many consider the Miami Heat duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo to be two of the biggest snubs in this year's All-Star teams. As it turns out, Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra couldn't agree more with this notion, and he recently revealed the reason why he believes this happened.

According to coach Spo, both Butler and Adebayo were glossed over because of the Heat's poor record:

“Probably people were quick to write us off, even with the subconscious voting, because of our record,” via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “But since then, it already has changed a little bit. Both of them, Bam and JB are clearly All-Stars. It's unfortunate.”

Fair argument from Spoelstra here, but it is also worth noting that there are more than a few guys out there that got voted into the All-Star quad — both as starters or as part of the reserves teams — despite being on bad teams. Bradley Beal emerged as the top vote-getter among East guards, and he's on the 11-18 Washington Wizards.

Injuries, particularly for Butler who missed several weeks earlier in the season due to a bout with COVID-19, likely played a role in the snub. While Butler has been on a roll of late, it appears that he hasn't done enough to earn a spot in the All-Star squad.

Be that as it may, Butler, Adebayo, and the rest of the Miami Heat have the remainder of the season to prove just how good they are. They are in a bit of a bind right now, but things have been looking up recently.
