Miami Heat icon Udonis Haslem is reportedly training hard and appears to want to play next season, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Haslem is an unrestricted free agent this summer. Heat legend Dwyane Wade retired after the 2018-19 season and some people thought Haslem, who is a close friend of Wade, would ride into the sunset with his pal.

However, it looks like Haslem could come back for one more season in South Beach.

An associate said Udonis Haslem is training hard three to four days a week, with the intensity of someone who wants to play next season. Haslem said during the season that he was leaning toward playing another season.

The 38-year-old Haslem only played in 10 games this season. He averaged 2.5 points and 2.7 rebounds. The veteran big man is a great locker room influence, something Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and president Pat Riley value.

Haslem is the Heat's all-time rebounding leader. He has won three championships with the team and is loved in Miami, where he was born and raised. Haslem made $2.4 million this season. If he decides to come back, UD will likely get a similar contract

The Heat missed the playoffs in 2018-19. With Wade gone, the team is now building the roster around Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson and Bam Adebayo.
