Unrestricted free agent Kelly Oubre, Jr. might be on his way to help LaMelo Ball and the rest of the Charlotte Hornets as free agency talks continue. Oubre played all of last season with the Golden State Warriors as he finished the second year of his two-year deal worth $30 million which he signed back in 2019 as a member of the Phoenix Suns.

As per NBA Central, the two camps have been discussing a potential deal that could send the 25-year-old to his third team in as many seasons.

The New Orleans native didn't have the best of seasons in his debut stint with the Warriors last year. After an impressive 2019-2020 campaign, his numbers across the board dropped in the Bay Area as he clearly had a challenging time adjusting to his new role under head coach Steve Kerr. With Klay Thompson coming back next season and guys like Andrew Wiggins proving their worth, there might be little to no space for a player like Oubre in the upcoming season. As it seems, the best option for him at this point in his career might be to move cities.

Despite his struggles, Oubre is still one heck of a player though. His upside is clearly still there and he can be one of the best two-way players in the league in the right system. A young, fast-paced team like the Hornets should be perfect for someone like Oubre. The lefty will add a ton of toughness in Charlotte as they continue to build around the reigning ROTY in LaMelo Ball.
