Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was not available to play against the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center on Saturday due to an illness. Rookie LaMelo Ball, however, made his best impression of the two-time NBA MVP by dialing a deep 3-pointer from Curry range.

Entering the fourth period, the 19-year-old phenom has yet to successfully make one attempt from past the arc against the Dubs' defense. Instead of trying to get a closer look, the brazen guard upped the ante and fired away a long-distance bomb a few steps away from the 3-point line.

His long heave paid off, as he cashed in the deep trey over Warriors guard Brad Wanamaker to cut the deficit.

LaMelo Ball, who is currently the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year honors, finished with just seven points on 3-for-10 shooting from the field, along with seven rebounds in 32 minutes. Despite a lackluster showing from their third overall pick in the 2020 Draft, the Hornets were bailed out by Terry Rozier's heroics and ran away with a 102-100 win.

The Hornets improved to 14-15 while the Warriors dropped to 16-15. Sure, LaMelo does not possess the same textbook shooting mechanics as Stephen Curry, nor does he have the same accuracy. But one thing's for sure: Ball is never short on confidence every single time.
