The Indiana Hoosiers basketball program has already booted head coach Archie Miller after the team garnered a 12-15 record in the 2020-21 season, per Stadium‘s Jeff Goodman. The move came with a $10 million buyout as Indiana looks to bounce back and head to a different direction next season.

Miller has been with the Hoosiers since 2017 where he started off with a dismal 16-15 record. He then bounced back on his feet in the following summer by securing the commitment of a five-star recruit in Romeo Langford who now plays for the Boston Celtics.

Despite having his main man, several injuries and lack of shooting eventually plagued the team as they finished with a 19-16 record. Their performance wasn’t enough as they still failed to notch a bid to the NCAA tournament during the 2018-19 season.

The Hoosiers managed to turn things around in the 2019-20 season as they have gotten off to a great start with an 11-1 tally. They eventually finished with a respectable 20-12 record and were even expected to make a trip to the Big Dance before the college basketball season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the 2020-21 season, the Hoosiers encountered several roadblocks as they plummeted to a 12-15 record. They didn’t get to make a good impression in the Big Ten tournament too as they immediately succumbed to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights by way of a 61-50 defeat.

Archie Miller is finishing his stint in Indiana with a 67-56 overall record along with a 33-43 conference tally through four seasons with the Hoosiers. It remains to be seen who will take over the vacant position but the program is already seeking to get back to its winning ways as soon as possible.
