The Los Angeles Rams acquired star cornerback Jalen Ramsey on Tuesday night in exchange for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021. It currently remains to be determined if Ramsey will play on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Considering how Ramsey has not played since the Jacksonville Jaguars' 20-7 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, the Rams are going to be ‘very intentional' about when he plays. He hasn't been able to get the same regular reps considering the time that he has missed due to a back injury.

It could cause some potential complications for the Rams if Ramsey is unable to play against the Falcons. Given that they traded away corner Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens, the Rams may need to rely on other options on their depth chart.

This week's assignment for the Rams features a matchup with Julio Jones. It would be very helpful to have Ramsey in the lineup to be able to shadow the Falcons' top receiving threat. That would allow for other corners like Troy Hill and Nickell Robey-Coleman to be able to handle easier receivers.

The Falcons have formidable receiving threats outside of Jones that the Rams will need to account for on Sunday. Between Calvin Ridley and Mohamed Sanu, it's important there are enough effective corners to go around.

During the three games that Ramsey has played in this season, he managed to record 13 total tackles and forced a fumble. He is coming off two consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and was named First-Team All-Pro back in 2017.
