The Jacksonville Jaguars fired Urban Meyer overnight after a disastrous 2-11 start to his first season, which featured loads of dysfunction and embarrassment. People have been dunking all over Meyer for being a total debacle as an NFL head coach, and this didn't stop at interim head coach Darrell Bevell's press conference on Thursday.

A reporter made a quip about Bevell potentially winning more games as an interim coach in the NFL than Meyer won as an NFL head coach, as he's certainly not getting another job. Bevell tried his best to hold back laughter:

Bevell's reaction shouldn't be too much of a surprise given the reports of bad blood between Meyer and his coaching staff. Jaguars players seem to be thrilled at the firing as well.

Bevell was also an interim head coach for the Detroit Lions just last season. He only went 1-4, but that means he just needs to win two games to close out this season to have more wins as an interim coach than Meyer did as an NFL coach. Or maybe the Jaguars just shock everybody and finish the season 3-1 or 4-0.

Looking at the schedule, Jacksonville has a good chance of winning the next two games. The Jaguars play the Houston Texans and New York Jets next, two very winnable games. The last two games come against the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts, which are probably losses, but perhaps there's an upset in there.

Whatever happens, Jaguars owner Shad Khan made the right move to bail on Meyer as a first step to try to turn this franchise around. They need to figure out how to get Trevor Lawrence right and add more talent around him.
