The Jacksonville Jaguars officially signed seventh overall pick Josh Allen to his rookie contract that is four years long with a team option for year five.

Many draft experts called Josh Allen one of the top players in the draft, and it was a shock to some that he fell to the Jaguars at number seven.

After signing his contract Allen said he was excited to have it out of the way, and now he can just focus on getting on the field and playing football.

“It feels good to focus on football now, and just worry about football – and not worry about anything off the field,” Allen said via the Jaguars team website. “I know everything’s settled in now. I’m ready for my family to get down here, and be a Jacksonville Jaguar for life.

“I’m just ready to make a name for myself in the National Football League. It’s official. I’m officially a Jaguar. It feels great.”

Even though Allen is ready to get on the field and play, he was held out of Thursday's practice while dealing with a knee contusion. It's not expected to be series and coach Doug Marrone said they are just holding him out as a precaution.

If this was the regular season this is something he could play through, but with it being early in the offseason there is no reason to risk it and make it worse.

It shouldn't be long before Allen is on the field with his teammates and getting ready for his first NFL season.
