The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to move on from Doug Marrone after Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Indianapolis Colts and they have their sights set on a notable name.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jaguars have former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer as one of their top candidates to replace Marrone.

The Jaguars have yet to decide on whether Marrone will be back with the team or not in 2021. But with Jacksonville having another disappointing season under Marrone, all signs point toward him being relieved of his duties once the season concludes.

In the event that the Jaguars do what is expected of them—which is fire Marrone—then Meyer is one of their favorite candidates available. Meyer, who turns 57 next summer, hasn't coached since 2018 when he was with Ohio State.

The legendary college football coach is currently retired from coaching football and is seen covering college football on Fox Sports. However, if he chooses to unretire, then the Jaguars are intrigued by the opportunity to have him make the jump to the NFL.

At the same time, if Meyer isn't interested in the likely vacant position, then Jacksonville could turn their attention to Ryan Day, per Rapoport.

Following last week's loss to the Chicago Bears, the Jaguars have locked up the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Provided that, the vacant general manager and head coaching jobs for Jacksonville become very enticing.

Most people believe that Trevor Lawrence is going to be the first player to hear his name called in April's draft. With that being said, if the Jaguars hire either Meyer or Day—who both coached at Ohio State—then Justin Fields could supplant Lawrence as the No. 1 overall selection.
