The Tennessee Titans aren't a bad football team. But they are stuck in a rut of mediocrity as they're once again are not close to making the playoffs but aren't bad enough to tank. If they want to get things rolling in the right direction, they should consider getting a quarterback like Jake Fromm in April.

Making the selection isn't exactly rocket science. The Titans need a great quarterback to make the jump and compete for the playoffs. That's precisely what Fromm could provide, considering the situation they are in. If everything works out, the Titans will have the QB who will lead them for years to come.

The most apparent reason why they should think about drafting the Georgia pass-caller is his sheer talent in throwing the ball. There are only a few players in college who can throw a football as good as he regularly does.

Fromm has been with the Georgia Bulldogs for three years and shown that he's more than a capable QB who can catch opponents off-guard. In a stacked SEC, he has already managed an impressive 7,344 passing yards and 70 touchdowns in three years. Almost every pass he throws ends up in a first down as his career average in passing yards per attempt is at a superb 8.5 yards.

He's not so much of a runner, so the Titans would not look at him to run with the football if the o-line gets sketchy. However, Fromm wasn't raised a quitter and as shown eagerness to tuck the ball in and scramble out of the box. He's only had a total of 75 rushing yards in college, but he's made three touchdowns to show for his running skills.

Another advantage that he can provide for the Titans is his attitude and approach to the game. Fromm was recently named one of the nominees as the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year. This award is only given to those who are terrific people on and off the field.

Having a quarterback that the team listens and gravitates to is important because it eventually returns to the team in the form of wins. It's vital that everyone in the offensive unit can trust their man in the pocket, and he looks to be one that can do that and more.

Finally, he's not considered as one of the top QB options in the draft. The fact that he's not a lock for the first round, in spite of his talent, should give the team a bit of flexibility in the draft. If they pick him in the second round, they can go for another strong player in a position of need.

Of course, there are other avenues the team can explore. They can always go to free agency as there are plenty of star QBs hitting the market. However, they should invest in their future and give Fromm a shot.
