The NFL world was hit with a shocking blow on Thursday night, as former Denver Broncos star Demaryius Thomas passed away at the age of 33. Preliminary police reports gathered by TMZ show that the ex-Broncos wide receiver died of a medical issue in his home in Roswell, Georgia. It's heartbreaking that someone as young as him died tragically.

After multiple sources confirmed Demaryius Thomas' death, many of today's NFL stars took to Twitter to pay their respects to the ex-Broncos legend. Jalen Ramsey and Odell Beckham Jr. of the Los Angeles Rams were the first ones to react to the tragic death of Thomas.

Melvin Gordon, who plays for Demaryius Thomas' old team (the Broncos), was also distraught by the news.

Other NFL stars joined in to pay respect to the deceased ex-Broncos star.

Several of Demaryius Thomas' former teammates and foes also took to Twitter to express their condolences.

It's unfortunate that Thomas was taken away from this world at a young age. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos with their first-round pick in 2010. While he started off slow in his rookie year, he proved his worth in the following years. He was a part of the folk legend that is the Tim Tebow-led Broncos, and scored one of the most iconic touchdowns in franchise history.

He would then go on to win a Super Bowl alongside Peyton Manning, and would garner multiple All-Pro (two) and Pro Bowl (five) selections in his career. After bouncing around a few teams after being traded to the Houston Texans during the 2018 season, Demaryius Thomas announced his retirement from pro football in 2021.

Rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Thomas family.
