Ty Jerome, a childhood friend of Donovan Mitchell, is on the NBA Draft radar of the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz have the No.23 pick on the NBA Drat and are reportedly looking for a solid rotation player who can improve their depth for next season.

Jerome worked out for Utah along with the likes of Admiral Schofield (Tennessee), Jordan Poole (Michigan), Quinndary Weatherspoon (Mississippi State) and Brian Bowen (Sydney Kings of NBL).

Early assessment reports among scouts project Jerome to be a late first round pick. He spent three years with Virginia where he averaged 9.6 points, 5.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. He was among the key players in Virginia's historic 2017-2018 season when they locked the first seed.

Per Tony Jones of The Athletic, Jerome is seen as one of the smartest players in the upcoming 2019 NBA Draft class. Interestingly, he has a relationship with Mitchell, whom he played  AAU ball with during their early years.

Standing 6-foot-5, he is primed to play the point guard position. He knows how to play the game, involve his teammates and utilize his stellar basketball IQ — something which has always separated the great players from the good ones.

“I want to be able to play to my strengths,” Jerome said. “I want to do whatever it takes, knock down shots, display my court vision. Defensively, I want to focus on guarding the ball, keeping guys out of the paint.”

For the Jazz, Jerome certainly could be an asset. His connection with Mitchell is something worth noting too. Whether Utah lands him or not is a matter of wait-and-see, but Ty Jerome is definitely worth watching out for.
