Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell claims he and point guard Mike Conley are meshing faster than he thought.

The Jazz were in dire need of another dynamic scorer next to Mitchell. Utah wasn’t going to make noise in the Western Conference with Ricky Rubio as the team’s starting point guard.

Now, the Jazz have two players in Conley and Mitchell who can score 20-plus points with ease on a nightly basis. We also can’t forget about big man Rudy Gobert, who is arguably the best defensive center in the league. He's won the Defensive Player of the Year Award two seasons in a row.

Although his efficiency went down in 2018-19, Donovan Mitchell averaged 23.8 points per game. Teams won’t be able to load up on him now that the Jazz have Mike Conley, who is a better scorer, driver and shooter than Rubio.

Conley put up 21.1 points and 6.4 assists with the Memphis Grizzlies last season. The lefty shot 43.8 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Jazz can now make a run to the NBA Finals with Conley in the fold. Their projected starting lineup of Conley, Mitchell, Joe Ingles, Bojan Bogdanovic and Gobert is as good as it gets in the NBA.
