It's never a great feeling to get picked last at anything. That is why Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell let out a huge sigh of relief on Thursday after he avoided becoming the last player selected in the 2020 NBA All-Star Draft.

This year's team captains Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers went ahead and picked their preferred teammates during a live segment on NBA on TNT.

As the names kept flying off the board, Mitchell found himself at the bottom of the barrel alongside fellow first-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis of the Indiana Pacers.

The reigning NBA MVP Antetokounmpo then proceeded to select Mitchell with the second to the last pick at number 21. One Twitter user congratulated Spida Mitchell for not being picked last, to which the 23-year-old combo guard offered the perfect response.

Regardless of the pecking order, there's no denying that Donovan Mitchell is having an outstanding season in his third year for the Jazz. He is having a career year with 24.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steal, all while knocking down 45.5 percent of his shots from the field and 36 percent of his triples.

With Mitchell leading the charge, Utah is currently tied with the Houston Rockets for the fourth and fifth spots in the West with a 32-18 slate.

Apart from Mitchell and Sabonis, Luka Doncic, Pascal Siakam, Trae Young, Bam Adebayo, Rudy Gobert, Brandon Ingram, and Jayson Tatum were also named to the All-Star team for the first time in their respective careers.

This year's All-Star draft has been an eventful one, as Antetokounmpo and TNT analyst Charles Barkley even roasted James Harden during the selection process.

The All-Star Game takes place at the United Center on February 16.
