In another apparent jab at the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has unveiled another hoodie.

As reported by NBA on ESPN, Mitchell donned a red hoodie with the imprint “Rookie?” on it. Below is the video of Mitchell, making his way from the arena parking lot:

This is the second time in a row that Mitchell wore a hoodie with the word “Rookie” on it. Last night, he came into the Warriors game wearing a black hoodie with the definition of the word. Below is a photo of him, as posted by Complex:

When asked about what's the meaning of the hoodie and why he wore it, Mitchell said that he's just having fun with it, as reported by Chris Haynes of ESPN:

“We just wanted to all have fun with it,” Mitchell said. “That's all it is, having fun and just enjoying it.”

It seems that Mitchell is mincing his words. Yes, he may be having fun but from his actions, he seems to want that Rookie of the Year Award for himself.

Mitchell is one of the top candidates in the Rookie of the Year race this season. He is pinned against Simmons, who many believe will win the award. Not only did he post impressive numbers, he also led the Sixers back to their winning ways.

By NBA rules, Simmons is a rookie, despite having been drafted two years ago. He sat out the whole season last year due to a broken foot.

Mitchell, as well as other critics, believe that Simmons does not qualify to be a rookie because he's had access to NBA staff, coaches, and facilities despite sitting out.

So who's the real top first-year player? Let's just wait and see to find out. The 2018 NBA Awards show will be held Monday, June 25, at 9 p.m. ET.
