Donovan Mitchell made his mark in the NBA as the Utah Jazz racked up win after win with him leading the way. With a few games remaining, Mitchell is not yet done. He recently set the new record for most made 3-pointers by a rookie.
As reported by Ben Dowsett of Basketball Insiders, Mitchell broke Damian Lillard's record.

The video above is Mitchell's 186th 3-pointer for the season, surpassing Lillard's 185 in the 2012-13 season during his rookie campaign. The third place belongs to Stephen Curry, who drilled 166 in the 2009-10 season.
From the looks of it, Mitchell will be a deadly assassin from the arc in the years to come. Unlike most rookies, Mitchell seems to have his shooting form locked and ready.
He has all the fundamentals in check. The real challenge for him moving forward is how to absorb every bit of detail quickly. Once he does, perhaps more 3-point records will be broken.
For the season, Mitchell is logging in 20.5 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds. per game. He is shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from downtown.
It is these statistics that have paved the way for the Jazz to rack up win after win. They are in the playoffs right now, something that was not expected of them at the beginning of the season.
From an individual perspective, his shooting, driving ability, and basketball IQ have given Mitchell a strong case to be included in the Rookie of the Year discussion.
