Utah Jazz star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell witnessed a car accident last Sunday in Utah and stopped to help.

Mitchell called 911 to report the accident.

“I was driving by, a lady was falling out of her car, the airbags went off, she was grabbing her chest and I was like, ‘Oh shoot.’ Like a natural instinct to found out what happened,” Mitchell said, via Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune. “I was just going out there to make sure she was OK. I don’t want to make it like a big, big deal.”

Jazz fans already love Mitchell for what he does on the court. This act of kindness is going to make the high-flyer even more popular in Utah.

Mitchell and the Jazz defeated the Houston Rockets on Monday to stave off elimination. The Rockets lead the Jazz 3-1. Mitchell put up 31 points in 40 minutes while shooting 11-of-26 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc in Game 4. Game 5 of the series is on Wednesday in Houston.

This story reminds us that basketball and sports aren't everything. Sure, the Jazz would like to defeat the Rockets and advance to the second round of the playoffs, but if they don't, life still goes on.
