Utah Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell has spoken out about the incident involving a handful of Jazz fans and the family of Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant during Wednesday's Game 2 matchup. Mitchell may be a fierce competitor on the court, but he knows where to draw the line.

Mitchell caught wind of the type of verbal abuse Morant's family had to endure in Utah's Vivint Arena on Wednesday and the 24-year-old could not help but heavily criticize the fans' actions — regardless of the fact that they're Jazz supporters:

It was revealed on Thursday that the Jazz had decided to hand these fans with lifetime bans after they learned of the incident. Clearly, Mitchell is fully supporting the organization's decision here as he agrees with the fact that there is no room in the NBA for these types of overly abusive fans.

It is also worth noting that two other fan-related incidents transpired on the same day. Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook was doused with popcorn by fans of the Philadelphia 76ers as he was heading to the locker room. In New York, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young was spat on by Knicks fans during the game.

Playoffs basketball definitely brings forth a different level of intensity not just for the players, but for the fans as well. Nevertheless, there is no excuse for this type of behavior. It's absolutely great to have Jazz fans back in home games, but incidents such as these are simply unacceptable.
