Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert just won his third Defensive Player of the Year award. However, he has no time for celebration as he focuses on the next silverware he wants.

While he is proud of what he has accomplished, Gobert knows the job is far from over. Sure, the DPOY trophy is nice, but he knows nothing is sweeter than holding the Larry O'Brien trophy.

“I want to win a championship. When I got drafted by the Jazz eight years ago, I told myself I wanted to do anything I could to help this franchise win its first championship,” the Frenchman said, per Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune.

The Jazz are currently in the second round of the 2021 playoffs, and there lies the focus of Rudy Gobert. They are up against the Los Angeles Clippers, so the All-star center knows he can't let the victory distract him from the task at hand.

“We have a big game tomorrow, so there won’t be be any real celebration. But I’m just trying to enjoy the moment. Fortunately, I have my mom in town, and people who’ve been a big part of who I am. Winning an award like this makes me reflect on how far I’ve come,” Gobert furthered.

Jazz fans will surely love Gobert's mentality. He has undoubtedly established himself as one of the best defenders the league has ever seen. He is a game-changing disruptor in the middle, and Utah needs him if they want to truly compete for the title.

It remains to be seen if the Jazz can reach the promised land and win the NBA Finals. However, with the way Gobert and  Donovan Mitchell is playing there is reason to be optimistic about their chances. Besides, this is the West's best regular season team we're talking about.
