The Utah Jazz have waived veteran forward Jeff Green and signed Rayjon Tucker to a multi-year deal.

Green, the fifth overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, has been a journeyman for most of his NBA career. He joined the Jazz over the summer to a one-year, $2.5 million deal. In 29 games donning the Jazz jersey, the 33-year-old averaged 7.8 points and 2.8 rebounds across 18.4 minutes per game.

The consensus among NBA fans is that Green will be picked up by the Los Angeles Lakers. After all, friend and former teammate LeBron James is there. A veteran like Green is an asset to a team who's contending for the title.

Tucker, meanwhile, will be picked up from the G League. In 16 games with the Wisconsin Herd, the 22-year-old averaged 23.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. He shot 49.4 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from deep, and 69 percent from the free-throw line. Sources reveal that Tucker will receive a guaranteed deal for the rest of the year.

This is the second roster move by the Jazz today. Just a few hours earlier, they traded Dante Exum to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for offensive player Jordan Clarkson.

The Jazz currently sport an 18-12 record for sixth place in the West. Mike Conley's absence and struggles have prevented them from moving up the ranks. Hopefully, their recent moves will fill in the void.
