The Utah Jazz are reportedly hoping whatever bad feelings exist between Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert will heal, per Zach Lowe of ESPN.

As transcribed by Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune:

“Woj was reporting yesterday that there is a rift now between Gobert and the rest of the team. You know, my feeling from the Jazz and talking to people there is that I think once everyone takes a deep breath, that this will be okay. That’s the hope anyway,” Lowe said.

Mitchell is reported to be “extremely frustrated” with Gobert after his positive coronavirus test. Players on the Jazz have privately said Gobert has been careless in the locker room, touching other players and their belongings.

Furthermore, Gobert was shown on video jokingly touching the microphones of reporters several days ago.

Mitchell and Gobert were the only players on the Jazz to test positive for the coronavirus. However, Detroit Pistons center Christian Wood became the third NBA player to test positive on Saturday.

Gobert clearly made a mistake by acting carelessly. It's unknown if Mitchell is going to hold a grudge or move on from this eventually once he gets over his illness. Only time will tell.

Mitchell and Gobert were close teammates before this incident. It's sad what has taken place in Utah and the NBA.

The Jazz went 41-23 before the season got suspended. They were in the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings.
